Porsche Acknowledgement

So this morning I'm driving to a park to do some bicycle riding, and a Porsche Cayenne Turbo trots by me. I didn't think much of it...he's up there, then he stops at a light and I happen to end up in the lane next to him...I knew he was driving "peppy", so I decided to pep back. Green light, rolled off, then hit it...the guy's nose didn't get to my nose until 90 (at which point he was starting to pull pretty hard). We pull up to the next light the guy honks at me and gives me a thumbs up, he rolls down his window and says "that car is fast as EDIT, that's impressive, really impressive man"

I say thanks, pat my steering wheel and tell him "not too bad for a diesel". :)

I didn't have the heart to tell him I didn't even lock it up early, or launch with boost. [laugh]

Please note I am not posting this as a "kill" merely acknowledgement from a quick vehicle. It feels pretty good when these guys in sports cars are shocked when they see how quick these things can be...particularly when its a big dually.

That's pretty impressive. Those porsche cayenne turbo's aren't slouches either.

Good Job! Its great to see the look on some peoples faces when they realize that a diesel is fast! I had a fun experience with a minivan on the freeway the other night lol. Not nearly a porsche but I was still laughing! Good job man!

I had the same scenario happen to me last Saturday when I was in PHX, AZ. I pulled into a local 24hr. Mexican restaraunt to get a bite to eat [whistle] that serves as hangout for ricers. All of a sudden, about 10 ricer cars pulled in with race #'s on the windows and (acting kind of dumb) I asked a guy what was up with all the "Fast and Furious" type cars. He said they all like hanging out there and bs'n. He said he just got done at the track and was able to pull a 12.98 1/4mi. on nitrous in his turbo'd '96 Civic CRX. I said cool thats pretty quick. He asked me why I was there and what I was driving. I said I only came to get a bite and be on my way with my truck. He just kind of smiled and said "oh well". I was able to get behind him as we left, and at the 1st light, i said "let's see what you got". He laughed histarically, and just sat there so I built boost and hammered it on green. When he realized what I was all about, it was too late. He never sprayed, so I beet him 2more times, at the light where I turned off to go home, his passenger rolled down his window holding a big thumbs up asking what I had under the hood and saying that was very impressive for a diesel. They obviously saw my own track #'s on the window, cause he asked what I ran. I said mid 13's, and with huge grins, they said they know of a bunch of Ligtnings and a few Ram SRT 10's they would like to watch me run. I said I had to get home and waved goodbye

That's awesome.

That's cool. I've never seen a high end car in my life, so never been able to race one. Now ricers that's a different story, none of them know what these trucks are capable of so sometimes they have to be shown. [whistle] None of the ones around here are good sports either. Most of the times when they get beet they look mad and give the one fingure salute. Oh well some people will never learn. ;)
