Cool Official Top Speed Records

I'm curious. What's your max speed? I'll keep an updated list.
I haven't messed with a governor or GSK or whatever you need to do, so, mine only goes 90MPH maybe. Ok, when you tell me your speed also give me any special mods or gear ratios that helped achieve the speed, and then I can make a little legend with letters for mods.

145 - gunracer1 - 1998
135 - gunracer - dually
125 - oestreich84 - 1998.5 2500
115 - rockjeep73 - 2nd gen.
110 - NukleusX - 1990 D350 2WD
105 - ofcmarc - 1993 4WD
100 - lovinCTD59 - 2001 3500 4x4

I have managed a downhill of 110, but on flat ground I can make it up to about 95-100. Man I love my GV unit. Thing rocks [gutar]

Can only imagine what the top speed will be when I bomb more, and esp when I have the 3200 GSK.

My old '93 could go ~105mph. It was a stock 4x4 auto.

Haven't tried the top end on my current 92. The roads are covered in ice and will be until next april or may. we'll see......

Somewhere between 125-130, and thats with the speedo correction. I was racing a buddy in his mustang, and when he let off I looked down and the speedo was dropping from 120. His car is a high 12 second car, and I kept up with him from a 20mph roll. Now he wants to buy my truck

i have been to 135 or so in my dually, and over 145 in my 98 shorty. i expect the 98 to breake 160 when i get it running right. both were still gaining when i let off. i was worried about the tires on the dually, so i backed out. the 98 has Z rated rubber all the way around it. so no worries on it, i just need a good flat strech of road.

Last time I checked mine it was 117mph but that was with the truck defueling at 2800 and I was only at 373hp. I'm sure I could peg the speedo at 120 now but my egt's would be way to hot for way to long.

Did 160 with the top down in dad's vette and it was still pulling. I really was an idiot back then.

This is for CTD's only. Please don't post guesses or out of date speeds. I have a video of a 12v CTD dragster that does the 1/4 mile in 8.95 @ 163MPH. That's not a top speed but it's still one of the fastest I know of.

90 mph in a Chevy S-10. I discovered one day on a trip home from college that this is where my truck was governed.
