NV5600 or built 47 auto hold more power?

I know what you mean... built autos pop up every now and then...
it'll be 2-3yrs of daydreaming before I get off the road and really get busy w/ this... but, by about Thanksgiving, I'll have more in savings than I've budgeted for this thing... NOW, if I'm smart, I'll just keep saving and start really lookin' for a truck once I've got my own place. BUT, if I find a killer deal on something, I may have to buy it
and I hear ya on the weak VP equipped truck... I was thinkin' something like that or something w/ a really mushy automatic that needs some attention.
we'll see how it all unfolds... after riding in my old truck earlier today, I was really craving a manual tranny again! LOL!

When it all boils down....
All these trannies AUTO OR MANUAL will eventually break or you will have issues if you are making any power what so ever and using it.
Just find a good shop that offers a good product and make sure they will support you if you have issues.

For what it's worth, I've got a DD clutch in my six-speed and still daily drive it. Not as civil as an auto by any means, but not bad at all. And I'd put it up against any built 47RE for power holding capability.
For racing, definitely go auto, though. No comparison between the two...
