Newbie Sled Pulling Help

I'm very interested in trying out the world of sled pulling.. I was wondering what I would need to even compete in the local fair, stock / work diesel class. Do I already have what I need or would I just get humiliated??

I just pulled for the first time last weekend at our local fair. I would not be afraid of being humiliated. Just go out and give it a try and you will enjoy yourself no matter what. Here is the link to my pull

I only pulled 155' but it got me fourth out of thirteen at the local pull. The track they had us on was so freaking short that the sled got heavy pretty fast.

ohio probably has the best street class in the country, if you are just wanting to pull for fun and don't care about winning, your gonna need clevis with a 3in opening so they can drop the hook through. driveshaft hoops and u joint sheilds to even be able to pull i'll have to check the rules but i believe they require them now. i fyou want to be competitive then it will take about $10k to compete with the top dogs. weirght bracket, traction bars, bump stops, modified hitch, turbo-II silver66 or s465, injectors, and tuning. i don't know much about modding a 3rd gen but i do know they can be built to with the dmaxs and 12v's. not sure about the tuuning on a 3rd gen i think a smarty stacked with a TST is a popular combo but i'm not sure
