My truck vs Ford 6.4

Ok sorry to do this to everybody but I really would like to know what my chances are.

Buddy of mine just baught a 08 Ford 6.4 extended cab 4x4 Lariet and the smack talk has already started. Today he stopped by work and began to dog my truck pretty bad. Before I knew it he was waving a $100.00 bill in my face for a 1/4 mile match at the local drag. I of course took his bet and we plan on running this weekend. I konw I can easily take a stock 6.0 and have done it. Unfortunetly I know anything about the 6.4 race capablities. I'm fairly sure I will crush him but reassurance would be great.

I agree. From what I have read on a Powerstroke forum I lurk around on, the 6.4 is pretty close in speed to a stock 6.0. Of cpurse that may be a bunch of jealous 6.0 guys writing that.

The 6.4 tuned is not faster than a 6.0 tuned so if it's stock you should be able to take him....and his $100

You really need to make sure he is ACTUALLY stock though because if it is tuned he should be able to run in the high 13's in the 1/4 on just a tune.

My truck run 13.80's with nothing but my SCT and 4" exhaust...everything else bone STOCK so be careful.

I just looked over his truck yesterday when he brought it to work. Its his first diesel. The only thing he knows about the truck it what the salesman told him. In which I'm sure it wasn't anything acurate

One of my buddies has an 08 Powerstroke and my experience with the 08 and up 6.4s is that they are dogs. I test drove one just to see what he talks the vehicle up so much for and it just felt really weak. Everything else about them, besides looks, in my opinion is better than the Dodges. Truck feels really sturdy, has great features and is much more comfortable than my truck, but I bought my truck mainly for the engine followed by looks.

I think you got him in the bag.

The 6.4 is heavier than the 6.0 so that makes a difference also,but even tuned with the dyno numbers that I have seen posted 500-525 rwhp they are not any faster than my 6.0 was with just a tune.

I said that on the forum and the 6.4 guys got all upset but the track times confirmed what I said.It run EXACTLY what I said it would run and within a .10 of what I predicted on spray.

The main tuner for the 6.4 even called me and asked me where he could gain some ET and I told him to let me drive it

You can dyno all you want but the track doesn't lie!

I met a guy that had one of the 6.4's and hated it. He seemed to be a diehard Ferd guy too, and was not happy with his truck. Told me he wanted to trade it off for a used one with anything but a 6.4!! Have not talked to him since.

Well sounds like the bet if off for now. I made the mistake of telling him about "The diesel stop". I guess he asked them the same question I asked you guys. He called me last night to appologize for his lack of knowledge on the 2 trucks and realized he couldn't win. Pretty cool to admit on his part
