I agree let'em run the ag pumps. Its no different than say a person running a hot rod vp44 or dual cp3 setup.
I have ran against ag pump trucks and beat them and vice versa.

Hooked- We changed the 2007 DHRA rules very little. We can't cut out trucks. A Ag pump in my opinion offers no performance advantage over the regular p7100. Rule books should be out in about a month or sooner.

Who cares if it's an Ag pump... You're allowing dual CP3's... The point is, that if it's "streetable" then it should run, Ag pumps are not a power advantage, but they still must pass the 4500rpm test.

After being around both types of governors I see no difference in either. It's not an ag pump it just the governor, the rest of the pump is the p7100 pump used on almost every diesel out there at one time or another. The governor is the only part off of a tractor. The ag g. doesn't use a anoroid and the fuel and idle are set threw the back and not the top.
If the duramax's can figure out traction with the independent front they could be hard to beat. They do have a bigger turbo factory than 2.8 and with dual cp's the fuel shouldn't be a problem.

I thought they already had it figured out!! The duramaxes from Kentucky and Michigan hold their own and then some at their pulls and national events.
I dont understand what you are saying about a 2.8 turbo from the factory? I know the stock dmax turbo is like 2.5 from the factory (not 2.8 though).

I thought the later models had a bigger turbo than 2.8? Maybe I'm mistaken, someone on here will correct me. I've only seen a couple of duramax's pull, one was in the middle of the pack and the other one blew part of the inner fender out with a fireball that shot out probably 4 foot outside of the truck.
I've got a friend who works on Justins truck that builds air shutoffs pretty reasonable if anyone is hunting one.
