There is going to be a truck pull here soon, one of my rather umm , how do i say this really polite like, less knowledgable friends , has a ford explorer , 4x4 w/4L auto. He has decided that he can pull a 4x4 CTD all over the parking lot, this could prove very interesting folks...

yeh, the tires would be a disadvantage for the ford, but the angle he was pulling (trying to lift your rear axle) would actually be a good thing for him.

Yes these things are pointless.

But it IS impressive in that the dually which sat so much lower was able to win. In such a "contest" as this, the taller vehicle has a HUGE advantage, because the tugging force tends to give him MORE traction, and his opponent LESS.

once watched a 2003 jeep wrangler hook up to a 1999 powerstroke, that was kind of funny, especially when that jeep took off with that powerstroke, drug him at least 200 yards (just kidding)

I don't have any video but I hooked up to a 2004 3/4 ton dodge with my truck and pulled him like that. He was telling everybody that he could pull anything he didn't care what you had. So I went and found him and told him that I would hook to him when we got off work, he said I got the edge with attitude box I told him I didn't care what you got. I was alittle worried that he might pull me because I really don't know how much power I have but I did have lower gears than him, but I really tore him up he didn't stand a chance I really thought that 04 would have been stouter than that.

He probably had an auto trans. A factory Dodge auto is a serious disadvantage, as they won't put the power down.

Compared to your truck, he could have had 600hp and still lost, because all he's doing is heating his tranny fluid.

Also, the Ford has 46" tall M/T Baja Claws.....I have BONE STOCK street tread 215/75/16 Michelin's!!! I would say that is one hell of an advantage.....not to mention the angle he was pulling at! To be quite honest, I did not expect to yank him that easily....guess just goes to show the power of the Dodge Daully CTD He did not hit my tailgate, but his trailer ball did bend the hell out of my license plate LOL. Also, I ended up with a broken tail lens from the dirt and rocks the Ford threw....oh and a whole lot of dings and chips in my gate.
i saw the argument on pirate4x4 when he was selling the truck...funny how he posted the video of him pulling you first! and not the one of you winning.

also i will say that ford looks good, thats about it. its a 2wd street queen. nice job in the dodge dude...way to lay it down!

when i was stock on bald tires i got owned by a 400hp ford v10 that would neutral drop his auto and jerk me about 15' every time, 1 year later and id love to find him again because i have about 225 more hp to the wheels now

There was a Ford Powerstroke vs. a Hummer H1 pavement pull off here. The Ford engine was very bombed, along with tires and lift kit, the Hummer, stock. The Ford never spun the tires, and ended up blowing his rear differential all over the street. He had to be towed away. The Hummer never moved an inch. I would have liked to see what would happen in dirt. My guess is that because the Fords tires never spun, all that torque had to go somewhere, couldn't, so the diff blew.
