Some of you know from earlier post, we are starting a new racing "group". We will call it the Farm Truck Racing League. It will be for the truck that want to race but are not Pro Street. It will not be bracket classes. What we started to run was just the fastest trucks with these rules. 1. One turbo. Whatever turbo you want to use, but one. 2. Any tire you care to buy. Slicks, cheater slicks, whatever. 3. No power additive at all. Just diesel in all trucks. That means now water, water/meth, nitrous, propane. Any truck combination you want. 4. Two or four wheel drive. Something will have to be done about the difference is launching ability. That is to be worked out. 5. And one of the biggest thing for all us to get to, is a 6,000lb weight limit.
This thing is going to happen, and happen this racing season. For us in Georgia, our "home" track will e Silverdollar Raceway in Reynolds. I would like to see divisions in other states, and we have a final in a given location at years end. Anybody that wants to race with us please get in touch with Amy Long at amy0275@bellsouth.net ar call her at 678-898-9464. Amy has agreed to take this on and get it organized. It is going to be quite a task, but she has said OK, so here we go. We will have a meeting very soon with as many racers as we can to get all the details ironed out and we will let everybody know the results, as soon as the meeting takes place.
We are thinking maybe 2 classes with an index of 12 and 13 seconds. What we are trying to do is stay away from bracket classes. I hate um. 12 sec index with a heads up race. I like the idea. Let us know what you think or even if you would be interested.
Please get in contact with Amy with any thoughts or ideas you may have on how this will work.
If you want you can e-mail me at tct@bellsouth.net. That's Turbo's Custom Trucks.
Thanks.

Do you mean 6000 pound minimum, As I don't know of too many farm diesel trucks other than 6.5 l Chevy srw reg cabs that meet that spec. as a maximum weight. My farm truck weighs 8800 pounds most times. ks
Yes.........A 6000 lb mininum. That is up in the air, as we are still formalizing the rules. The 6000 number is just the number we started with. We figured the 6000 lb number would be easy for all truck to get too, and not have the 2 wheel drive trucks have that much of an advantage. There's is all kinda ideas floating around still. Like my truck, it weighs 5565 with me in it. That why we're having a meeting with as many racers as possible to finalize all the rules. I talked to Dennis Perry yesterday, and he wants us to get our race up to Bowling Green June 9th and 10th. He's having a Pro Street "outlaw" race then.
Understand, all these truck are not farm trucks. Any street truck can run. The FTRL is just what we decided to call it. A lot of the trucks are 4x4, right out of the fields.
When we get all the particulars done, anybody with a fax machine, send me the number and I will send you all the rules as we have them.
