We had someone come all the way from Medicine Hat? I guess it was closer than Edmonton.

HT3500........ Would love to get another chance on that Dynacom Dyno. Hot Street has a nice set up and judging by the crowd, you could pack them in again!

Speedtek is ok...but 10%+ stingy. Based on what some said, that have been on Dynojets before, the Dynocom was reading true.

Think you would have been well over 1,000 hp before she let go!

Ya we will go to hott street again, but I am kinda glad we moved because do you remember that real nice 66 or 67 chevelle parked next to the dyno, oh that could have been bad.. but I agree that place was nice and we will go back, well if everyone wants to...

i think the reason the tq #'s were so high had to do with the fact that they were figured off rpm's and my rpm's was not right on my dyno sheet. i think since we were pulling in OD which s like .73:1 or something like that it was throwing off the rpm's reading which were probably measured off wheel speed. going by HP=TQxRPM/5252 if i hit 496hp at 2800rpm my tq should have been 930 not 1229 which is about 25% lower, difference between 5th and 6th gear. wish i would have thought about that when we were there and dynoed in 5th (1:1) to get what should be a accurate tq #. hope this makes since. someone correct me if im wrong i was just doing some thinking and came up with this

I think you're correct!
I was surprised the Hot Street guys were suggesting final drive for their dyno.
I don't know Dynacom Dynos so just observed.... but those kind of dynos (like Mustangs) always pull in 1:1.

I don't know if the torque difference would be that big, I've dynoed back to back 5th and 6th gear, it only made 10 ft.lbs of difference at 270hp (might be more when your talking higher HP#s though)

Matt, this was a different type of dyno that used roller speed instead of an optical pickup on the harmonic balancer to provide engine RPM.

I think Scott figured out part of the problem - I saw a few runs with 5XX HP & 15XX torque... yeah, right! Obviously, the dyno SW took a dump, so it's hard to calculate a correction factor.

Ya I notice the torque was way off, and even if we were in drive wouldn't the numbers still be off cause tire sizes? When I saw the big torque numbers I was going to shoot for 4000 lbs what ya think??? LOL.....

My tq reading have always been 150-200 ft-lbs higher on that type of dyno (non Dynojet).
35" tires would make sense as the cause...
Maybe the Dynacom was so new the boys at Hot Street didn't have time to read the book on it??

5th gear on a 6 speed....and 3rd on an Auto (also 1:1) would be right way to go, IMO.

Here is the link to my photobucket account... http://s177.photobucket.com/albums/w206/TexasCTD/

Just go to the video of "buck's turbo". It doesn't matter if it is on You Tube or any other hosting site.....we can't post a "DIRECT" link here without getting in trouble with the admins. I posted a link to a You Tube video once that down 3 pages in the comments somebody used a cuss word...and I got slammed for it. The video itself was clean.
