I'd still quietly look into the bed to see how much weight he has added.
The difference is the weight and traction. Of course we have the power advantage.

Two of my buddies hooked once. Both 97 f350 powerjokes. Both lifted the same, same wheels, tires and all. They were mirror images excpet for color. Anyway one of them had an inch think sheet of steel in his bed he was hauling around for his job. I bet it weighted close to 1000lbs. Anyway he pulled the truck wihout the weight with no prob.
I hooked to an f250 before and got pulled around. We were both at idle with the rope tight. I had it in 4lo, when they said go we both rolled on the throttle and I just spun instantly. He pulled me like I was a trailer! He wasn't cheating either, we did it twice. Pretty embarrasing.
So for this 1500rpm launch are you in 4hi or lo? Lo seems like it would just cause you to spin tires even quicker. From the results in that video I think I need to try my buddies f250 again.

Be sure to drop tire air pressure to about 20# each for max traction..

No you shouldn't only think you need to worry about is if you have the brakes to stop both of you when you start pulling him. He'll have ot add close to 2000 pounds of weight to come close to your weight.

I'm still going with check yor brakes and make sure you will be able to stop that load. Trust me dude unless he has 2 tons in the back of his truck and a Wiend Supercharger sticking out of the hood don't sweat it. If he does has a supercharger then well thats a whole different ball game.

i've done a few hooks...

my first time i got hustled by some boys i didnt know. i was on bald...and i mean BALD michelin LTX street tires...and only had the 70hp banks kit with exhaust, wastegate, ottmind...prolly around 320hp and 680tq

the first guy was a lifted f-350 v-10 dually on 35" off road tires...i was secerly handicapped with 4 bad tires to his 6 good ones...and we were on dirt. then he got to line up on the slightly downhill side...so i was pulling slightly up. he says it was a stock motor automatic with the lift and tires. well he was nuetral dropping from 1500 down into drive and would jerk me instantly and i stood no chance. after 3 attempts i quit because my tires didnt even grip. later i heard some talk that his motor was far from stock...his dual exhaust was no cat-back...it started from a set of headers..which are a big gain for a v-10, and he had a perf. throttle body and spacer, intake, and a hypertech power programmer isntalled. i didnt lose any money so its all good tho...just lost my pride.

a few minutes later a 6.0 gasser chevy hooked up with me and he was on 33" BFG A/T and we both dug down about 2" and sat still...everyone says i won tho because my tires were so crappy and i still held him off.

the next time i made a hook was on pavement, against a 350 pwoered reg cab dually chevy 4x4. we tried 2wd because i had a 150hp and 300tq advantage plus weight advantage...ont he pavement i dumped the clutch and spun...his 4 tires hooked up in the rear and he pulled me 15' in my cloud of smoke. so i said lets go 4x4 and go 6 tires agaisnt 4...i was in 4hi...2nd gear...let him start to pull then revved to 1500 and dumped it...i hopped once, hooked and pulled him an easy 50' well he decided to be a dummy and get a running start and takes off back the other way when i stopped (he was mad that i jerked him so hard and so far) so as he has me moving backwards agains pretty quick...i put it in second, dump the clutch and stop his movement intantly and then pulled him at least 100yds to show him whos boss.

Wow. I liked the 350 story. I've seen some wild hookins' before. I saw 2 guys in like 78 chevys hook in the dirt, and they just sat there and spun around, not too fun But the best one I've seen was two 2005-- 3500 Cummins DRW hook on pavement. The only difference was once was a quad cab and one was a single cab. The reg. cab held him for a few seconds, then the quad dumped his clutch and drug him 8' then stopped. I was like Ever seen 2 Toyota Camerys hook? I have...

320 and 680 is still pretty stout.. wow! im sure uda gotten that v10 had u good tires and it be a level playin field.. a chevy 6.0 gasser will easily hop in low range i have pulled one, MIND YOU i had good tires, and this was with my current setup, which is running about 315-330 HP and 700-750 or more TQ. I have dynoed with just a zero plate at 376/902..as i said prior, the chevy hook was in dirt, but i held the brakes, includin parkin, and the clutch was dumped, and brakes released when i felt i had enough rpms and was gettin pulled back.. (not for long tho)i dug in and my wheels spun but then the tq got the best of him and i just pulled him like it was nothing, his truck was hoping more from the front than the rear, and while my cummins was being pulled down on the rear, and the heavy front stayed planted, i just pulled him back easily once my tq came in and my tires got a good grip... You should not have any problems with a 6.0 gasser.. our 12V oldies are goodies, they make more tq per hp than the overvalved ones do (TYPICALLY) good luck and let us know how it goes, video it if possible...

moral of the story, even though it was dumb, i hooked, and U GOTTA LOVE LOW RANGE... our cummins almost have ungodly power....
