burnouts in 4 wheel drive?

Has anyone ever spun all 4 wheels in a burnout? On pavement of course. It doesn't seem possible, so I'm curious if it can be done. Post a video if you have one.

Thanks in advance

I assume we are talkin in a dodge cummins? Or any 4x4/awd car?

I have seen them do it before at the drag strip. I think it was Darren Morrisons truck. built to much boost i guess, and it came sideways with him before he got out of it.

you assume correctly

but since you mentioned it, I don't think I've ever seen anyone burn all four wheels in any vehicle. I have seen the FWD burnouts though.

I have videos of me lighting up 3 tires on my evo, i'll edit for link.

Guys, I don't have LSD and with the RAD, in 4 wheel drive I don't have any problem burning out anymore. Burnouts are real short because with 3 tires hooking up you go. ks

i have seen guys at off road event burn all four. Just have to hook bumper to a sturdy post and let'er fly.

I spin all 4 launching at the drag strip if I launch with too much boost. I wouldn't call it a burnout though. They promptly hook up.

It's not so much a 4x4 burnout as both driven axles screaming for traction:

burn outs

anyone ever thought about how much damage that front driveshaft could do if it came out? saw it happen once dont want it to happen to my truck. guess i will be chicken. [duhhh]

I think MCummings can do a 4wd burnout...not sure tho

cumminsman02 11-15-2005 07:47 PM

4wd burnout

i had a close friend do it once in 3rd gear cut the wheels dropped clutch and once the charger lit he started spinning all 4 tires!! sad things though-he twisted the front driveshaft down to what looked like was left if you twisted a pop can about 100 times. it was awesome while it lasted!!

yea... snowy pavement......

45 pounds of boost leaving the line in 3rd gear will light up all 6 of my 285s, i wish i had a video.

Darren can, but why. When he's on the line, he burns the rear and not the front. He launches in 4X4 but goes out of it at half track. He's about winning, not show. If it don't help Darren win, you won't see him doing it.
