There's no way that Ranger will pull your CTD - even if it did have the traction, there's too much of a disparity in the torque department... gear ratios or not!

EDIT: ok - he might be able to pull you in neutral if the E-brake wasn't too tight

but those heavy axles also going to be harder on that 4.0 too

The Axles Weight About 1,000lbs A Piece. The Gear Ratios Of 6.72 Will Make It Easy For That Motor To Turn The Tires No Matter What

If you know anything about rock crawling or offroading, advanced adapters will adapt anything to work with anything. You can get an Atlas t-case to work with anything. And if you dont think crawl ratio matters then why are you asking the questions wether your truck will pull a little ford ranger? If you know anything a about GEAR ratio then you know he can turn those tires very easly with 6.72s. I could spin my 35s with 4.88s in my Wrangler w/ straight 6cyl thats how I blew at my ring and pinion.

If his hitch point is really high and its on dirt definately get it on vidoe as the front of his truck rises off the ground when you begin pulling him. Like others have said try not to spin your tires to much at all it will only hurt on pavement.

I can't believe that I'm hearing guys even thinking that it is a small possibility. Like a fat guy against a little kid in a tug o' war. Not even possible that he will out pull you....I don't care how high his hitch is. If it is 2 ft. higher than yours.....you will bend his frame or make him ride a backwards wheelie.

Exactly. The little lightweight ranger with big tires will have little to no traction at all-- even with the advantage of the higher tow points.

Make him tie off to a drop hitch and there's no contest.

Engaging 4wd on a CTD increases traction about 300% because of the heavy front end.

just make sure and get this on video...lol

never seen a ranger flipped on it's rear end...lol

i've hooked to a bunch of vehicles and only lost once when i got my clutch too hot (after me pulling him for a good 10 minutes...)

no way with the ctd weight and torque he has a chance...
