Is the Ford a one ton, single wheel or dually? Who ever weighs the most and has the most traction will win. If you tug, do it on a full tank of fuel and add some extra weight in the truck, like tools and some suitcase weights

I don't know about the torque for the ford, but the dodge is rated at 440. I would have to say the ford would be around they same HP/TQ. HP and TQ don't matter in a tug o'war. As long as you can maintain traction, you can win.

I can't give advice on some things-

but I would play it cool, kinda not saying when, but you will, when ya got the time. In the meantime scout a good place that has the ground your truck likes for traction or that you feel good pulling over that you know you can get him to.

The best will have a slight incline that you can use to your advantage but is not so big he'd notice. Or one side will give better traction than the other. Then get him to do it there, probably by saying "lets get it done!" when he's right near your good spot and he says "when we gonna do it?" --"hey, I know a place..." you'd say.

Might as well set the table if you're invited to the party I always say.

You can see how my mind works.

If you do it on black top pick a slow gear. If your in dirt, once you start to spin a lot, stop and wait for a second to start again. I saw a guy do this pulling a ford and he win everytime. The ford guy just kepting adding people to his truck and he still couldn't win. I think alcohol had something to do with this tug o war. This maybe hard to do with a manual though. If thats the case, you'll just have to experiment and find a way to win.

tug o war

I say you will take him, your truck is longer which is more leverage and its heavier.. put it in 4 low in 1st and he's goin for a ride. I dragged an 06 f250 crew cab short bed 4x4 through the dirt and on the pavement.

Like these guys have been saying... it is ALL about traction. More power might actually hurt you because the tires are going to want to spin. Let him floor it, then easy onto the throttle and pull him away! I've got a buddy with an '05 F250 who I think I should pull, but it'll be a no-brainer cause mine is so much higher I'll pull him OFF the ground
