So, a buddy of mine takes his moms 05 VW Beetle convertible TURBO automatic out for the night. Curiously to see what will happen, we go off from a roll. We started at about 30 mph and hit it at the same time. We were exactly neck to neck till 70 when I started pulling 1/2 car in front and then we ran out of road. Nice to see something that weighs 3 times as much and still be able to beat it and plus the Beetle was also TURBO. Ohh well....its a little after midnight and im just bored so I figure why not post something.

 

Only a little related, but I had a buddy with an 04 beetle turbo. At the time, I had an '04 srt-4. We were going to race. He rode with me in the neon, and then just conceded the race right then and there. He told me it would be a waste of time to even line the cars up, that there was no way the beetle could win. He was right-the neon had the beetle covered by about 80 hp according to the ratings.

 

I see the new srt comercials touting 300 hp........... dang, ricers beware !
