Thumbs up club cab rear bench conversion finished!

I got real lucky and found a Canadian 1st gen owner who sold me his custom bench seat (out of a 92' club cab 4x4). The seat is actually a rare aftermarket unit made by Can Am Cruisers Inc. I have no idea if this company is still in business? I found the original ad in a old TDR magazine. This bench directly bolts into the stock jump seat mounting holes! The seat even flips up for stowage! I am really impressed by it. I know other members have fabricated similiar assemblys, but this was the only original bench conversion offered to 1st gen owners.

looks good, how comfortable is it sitting back there, looks like your back would be straight up and down...

looks nice, way more useable than the jumps (which are darn near useless IMO)

I've been loking at what the other members have been doing, 'cause I think the jump seats can do just that; jump the heck outta my cab! This looks real nice though. Gives me a good idea about how to make it look when I finally get around to building one. Nice!

nice!!

looks like sitting the back of an early 90's ford extended cab, LOL not even a complete backrest, kinda sucks but its better than jumpseats for god sakes.

I originally was going to install a mid-90's Ford extended cab bench. I found out that they are too long (61" long). This would require someone to remove the stock rear speaker boxes. I'm glad I did it this way.

My friend has a 93 F150 extended cab and its bad in the back, that little pad on the rear of the cab hits you in the middle of the back! my other friend's 96 Dodge ext. cab is much more comfy!

I'm thinking about a Dakota fold down back seat....... Looks like it wouldn't be too much work.

Hey, I am new to this forum and am apparently wanting the same thing as many... to convert the jump seats in my 1993 to a bench of some sort... I have seen the photos from another poster of the awesome looking conversion he has. Questions I have are what is the difference between and "1st Gen" and a 2nd Gen"? Does anyone else have photos or plans of different conversions? Are there any posters that have used a seat from another truck and if so which one? Thanks.

Hey Lovemytruck...start a "I'm new here" thread and introduce yourself. Also fill out your sig so we all know what kind of truck you have, and what's been done to it.

I live over in Abbotford, keep an eye open for my D350 crewcab CTD conversion. If you see me stop and say hi.

As for your question on 1st gen vs 2nd gen...if you are referring to the trucks then a first gen is the 89-93 Dodge ram with a cummins, then the 2nd gen are the 94-02? with cummins power.

I know this thread is old, but could I get some more pictures of the rear seat? I am considering making one for my truck.
