Please help me get my truck on the road again!
Hi there everyone.....I am asking anyone's help into figuring out what is wrong with my truck....I am a truck driver and this is my way of providing for my family....it's been two weeks now and I can't figure out what is wrong with my truck.....please help me get back on the road
What does it mean when these codes come up on a 2003 freightliner century truck: warning, low voltage and active fault: engine position sensor low: 128s021N? I have replaced all the sensors and even got four new batteries but it's still not working! Please help or give any suggestions. Thank you! |
Sounds kind of like the same symptoms on a gas engine when the engine position sensor goes out, it won't start. Hopefully a diesel mechanic will chime in and let you know. I don't see why they would be any different. I know you said you replaced all the sensors, but were you able to get to that sensor and replace it as well? On the gas engines that I have replaced them on they were right off the flywheel where the data was received from, and typically a pain to get to.

Yes I was able to get to the sensors and replace all of them but no success fixingnthe code problem
|
Can you read a supply voltage and ground at this sensor? Can you get a scanner on it so you can see what this sensor is or isn't doing?
|
Well There are seven sensors.....I wish I knew which one is for this code
|
I'm gonna get Tim, one of the heavy truck mechs here... see if he can help out...
|
Thanks u so much....any help would be great! I called freight liner and they said it might be the srs or trs sensor but I have replaced these sensors and put new ones in,,,,,I don't know what else to do?????? Any suggestions?????

What engine does it have in it?
|
Detroit series 60
|
the code is : 128s021 01N
last 6 digits on the vin#: M17682 Detroit Series 60 Engine |
I sent a pm with a link to this thread to another member here that is an expert on the series 60. He can help you out. Sorry I know very little about the series 60.

Sorry I was on a plane most of the day. Tim hit me up on a stop over. That code you gave there is a freighliner code, not a Detroit code. You need to cycle the flash codes and get the Detroit code. And post up what they are. the trs-timing reference signal and srs-syncronous reference signal. are redundant engine position sensors. But the ecm won't turn on the fuel without see both of them.
Actually explain in detail what exactly its doing? Or not doing. Key switch on, CEL & SEL cycle? Any active engine codes, key on engine off? Cranking? CEL SEL come on, with no start? |
