Big Rigs Talk about other Cummins powered vehicles here. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even have to be Cummins, but it will be diesel! :)

The biggest problem CAT is seeing is trouble with their turbos on their newer twin trucks

That firetruck is a Peirce. we work on alot of firetrucks for the city. And the Peirce dealer is really close, they send us alot of CVIP inspection of new vehicles.

About Cats, I don't know really. I work for a Detroit, Mercedes, MTU, GE Jenbacher, Allison Dealer. Don't work on any Caterpillars. I don't follow caterpillars anymore.

thats always a subjective question. theres no easy answer. EVERYthing has a failure rate. thats why EVERY manufacturer has warantee & service facilities.

Typical trash trailers.........seems they are always having to be put back on their feet. They even get good drivers. All it takes is for a load to hang on one side up front. Worked for a demo company and we had to go thru that ritual 3-4 times a year.

The volvo is a 2003 , with about 750 000 on the ticker now, no real engine trouble aside from a couple injectors, exhaust manifold leaks, and a cracked oil pan. The fan clutch is not working on it right now. It has the D12 engine at 475hp. I can't say as much good about the electrical system in the truck, LCM ECM BCM yadda yadda yadda codes all the time, does all sorts of strange stuff.

The mack is a 2006, renault engine at 470 hp , 18 speed eaton. This is my truck to drive, although it is due to be replaced quite soon.

rich, that was high moisture corn, the grain door on the trailer is closer to the right hand side , the driver didn't drop the air in the truck, yadda yadda , bunch of things came together for that disaster. it is an older trailer too , quite a stuff frame under that one.
