Does anyone know anything about or had anything to do with PACCAR's new MX engine.

no sorry haven't had any direct info on it. but looks like its got alot of european styling points to the engine engineering. like it shares some characteristics of the MBE 4000, which I am not a fan of the MBE's myself btw.

I see that they use them in the U.S as well as Europe.

We had terrible luck with the new cummins and we're looking to trade to a Pete with the new DAF motor. But I can't find anyone who has actually driven one or worked on one to get their opinion. All the company info makes them sound like the best thing since sliced bread, but we also heard that same thing about the Cummins we have and it has been a POS from the day we got it. They don't make em like they used to.

Next week were going to be testing out a T-660 with the new mx motor in it and will post back with my thoughts on it.

I wonder how much the Guv'mint regulations for "clean" diesel engines have screwed up the dependability. Anytime those morons on Cap. Hill start designing machinery you know it's gonna be FUBAR!

I don't know if its just me but I always get disappointed when I see a cool looking truck and then notice it has those goofy emissions stacks.[yuk] The DPF makes it inferior to other trucks IMO.

I've seen a couple MX engines in the shop to be serviced..... They don't look all that bad, But only time will tell on how reliable they are.

our company has run a couple test motors if i remember correctly it was a toss up the only ones i have seen personally were scattered on the floor getting rebuilt or heads with very low miles the isx is a strong piece but every manufacturer has a few problems are these problems cummins fault is the driver defeating the regen and not letting it regen this will cause major problems for the motor we currently run some petes w/ the latest cat and haveing major issues with them to

also sorry to repost these first years of a paccar product ( engines ) would scare me a little they havent had a lot of time building engines and i hope its not the customers doing the r&d / testing for them
