Trans shop near Anchorage

Hey guys I'm almost near the stage of building my trans, I will prolly go with a full build. I won't to go with a good trans from like Goerend, but don't know of anyone that deals with them. What are some of you guys going with being this far north and not close enough to the guys who supply these great trans?

I'll prolly be ready to purchase around Aug or Sept.

Thanks

Be weary, there are a lot of jip joints in Anchorage. So far, the few that I talked to will only do the "ATRA" approved overhauls and didn't seem to know anything about the Cummins in front of it. Some one I trust did recommend talking to Top Jimmy in Wasilla. Hadn't got round to it yet though.

Sorry I haven't checked the AK section for awhile. If you haven't found a shop yet I would recommend B&B Automatic Trans on Diamond and C. They built the 47RH in my 95 last year and I couldn't be happier with the trans or them. They can make it as bulletproof as you want. Mine is set up for towing our 5th wheel and it is amazing how much better it pulls. Just be honest with them in how much HP you plan to throw at it and what kind of driving you do and they built it to match. Didn't cost much more than a stocker and it is way more fun to drive now.

I don't know if they buy parts or kits from the big name places. They build their torque converters in house. Before building mine Butch took me on a tour of the shop, met the techs, showed me what they recommended and gave a demo on how their tc's are better than the rest. The shop was immaculate and they were not pushy wanting your $$$, like some of the other shops I visited in Anc.
