Windshield wipers
 

How come years ago you would buy a set of wipers and they would be good for years...Now you buy cheap ones and expensive ones and they last maybe six months.....What is a good set of windshield wipers you guys are using??

I just go to canadian tire and get the teflon ones, work as good as anything else I have tried, and cheaper too... dont buy the reflex ones,, they have a tendancy to fly off while you are driving down the road. I had to crazy glue them on my dodge to make them stay

i'm still happy w/the factory ones. maybe you could spend a couple more bucks & get them again. I've never had luck with crappy tire products.

Ive had good luck with the reflex one's, maybe kev you didnt put them on all the way:D. But on the other hand they really didnt fair to well in snowy conditions. I wonder if anyone have tried the rain x wipers??

I've got the Rain X ones, they are no better or worse than anything out there.

The best luck I have had would have to be the Reflex wipers, they suck in the snow/slush but over all, I have had the best performance with them. I'll go back to them when the Rain X ones die.

Of course I also have those spring things for the wiper arms to put more down pressure on the windshield.

The reflex ones worked ok,, but the stupid little latch would just pop open for no reason. that is what I crazy glued shut

Ive also had them open on me, was just poking ya..

I've got the reflex ones on my 12v, seem to work pretty good. Factory stuff seems to be the better quality parts when it comes to wipers. Atleast Ford had good wipers.

Wipers 25 years ago where way better..They were good for snow,rain hail sand storm...and lasted..

i've also had good luck with reflex wipers (just regular, no coating). i got them when they were becoming popular a couple years ago and haven't had a single issue with them since then. still using the first pair i bought. also, i work for a rural ems/ambulance service and we use the reflex (or similar) wipers. we drive in some pretty nasty conditions anywhere from 5 to 150 km/h and have never had an issue with lifting or flying open or of regardless of being used or just sitting at the base of the windshield.

i'll buy the same ones or coated ones next time . . .

I think Calgary emergency vehicles get there parts from NAPA...

the cheap wipers from Cdn Tire work real well for about 3-4 months. The other wipers work decent for 3-6 months but cost double or more.

Bosch Icon wipers - you'll love them. These seem to be the ticket on the Suby and Bimmer forums. They blow away crappy tire and rainX wipers. Cost is about $18 each in Edmonton. They work well in all temperatures and don't chatter or leave streaks. By far the best wipers I have ever run.

Are we just supposed to guess where you got them?? [whistle] [whistle]
