What do you think my truck is worth and can a SRW 3500 handle a 13K GN?

Been thinking that I would like my truck to be more daily driver friendly plus I really want to go back to an automatic.
I'd like to get away from a dually if possible but I just built the redneck toy hauler. I'm guessing its about 13K with the Jeep on it. Is that a comfortable weight for a 3500 SRW? What about a 2500 with airbags, would it be legal?
Do you think I could get $20K for the '03 in my sig? Its got about 235,000kms on it but the engine only has about 150,000kms on it. Brand new SB clutch 6 months ago. Tires are good(Toyo MTs) and the body is fair.

13k GN is nothing for a SRW. Later this summer I plan to pull a 35' or so, with 3 jeeps, weighting like 18 or 19k, and my truck is lifted. A GN pulls like a dream compared to bumper pulls. I've had 13k on a bumper pull, and it's not that bad, but wouldn't go anymore on that. I'd worry about a auto the most.
Sorry but I don't think you'd see 20k for an 03. Like I said in my last post, my bro only got 15k for his 03, 240km, it was a ST, but still. Maybe 18k if you found the right buyer.
As far as legal, a 2500 can pull/haul the same as a 3500 SRW. Same axles, same tires. A dually will do quite a bit more, and be more stable, but 13k isn't that much. The only thing that limits the weight of trailer is your pin weight on the rear axle.

the GVWR and GCVW of 2500 and 3500 are not the same. so its not legal. a 2wd dually 3500 has the highest rating of any configuration. my bud at work has a 3500 SRW 4door '06 or 07 I'll check out the numbers tommorrow.
clay, I was at the airport today doing some engine work on a shell fuel truck. where abouts are you at up there when your working?

gcvw is all that would matter with a trailer. outside of the obvious gross axle weights.
the axles are the same designations but thats not what determines payload and towing capacity. braking is more important. I'm pretty sure the drums on 2nd gens aren't all the same size.
if you have an auto you got the D70. a stick the D80. those are obvious differences.

Ok thanks for the tips guys. I cruised Kijji for a bit and your right I won't get $20K for my truck.
Thanks for the info about the weights as well. That opens up a few more doors in terms of what I can buy.
I think I will probably have to wait until the fall when I've got more cash and can throw some into the deal. Plus the crankshaft in the mini-van snapped in half last week so the truck is all I've got right now except for the big Jeep.
Luke, if you were out on the tarmac in front of the shell and looked straight North you would see my building, blue and white. We are between the shell and the control tower.

O yea your talking about 2nd gens, I was just assuming 3rd. Yes a 2500 and 3500 in 2nd gen are quite a bit different between 3500 was dually only.
Yea even 18k would be a great price to get for it.

Trailer towing capacity is not rated on wether it is a 3500 or 2500. These loads are calculated from many different areas. Total weight of the vehicle, type of tranny, manufactures rating on the tranny, engine etc.
A dually will never be able to tow as much legally as a SRW, due to extra weight. My chevy 2500 was rated to pull allmost 1000 more pounds than a similar dodge, due to the dodge weighing 800 lbs more.
I tow a 15k 5th wheel with my truck, and with air bags no problems. Just keep the brakes up to snuff on the trailer and you will be fine.
