VEX Tuning June Dyno
Alright already, time to get down to brass tacks here. Had a good chat with Myron and Fidel at VEX tonight and got all the particulars of the event.

We are looking at a full day event on the dyno, UN-sponsored!! So the focus from the discussions I had is to provide good, repeatable dyno numbers. VEX is in the business of providing accurate dyno measurements from their equipment and also provide expert tuning, more specifically for the gas crowd. That being said, Diesel is not foriegn to them so we are in for a good time.
The runs are set at $100. This is for the typical hookup and calibration, then achieving repeatable runs for an accurate number. After looking at this DynoDynamics unit, repeatability should not be an issue. The load rolls on the unit are cut with fine splines, similar to a Gates cog belt. If you slip on that roller, your tires are toast! So we should be able to hook up any unit to this beast and get some real numbers. Dual wheels will require some time to remove the outer set of wheels, for fit and safety on the dyno.
We will be allowed to run our own trucks, after a brief safety-tech meeting prior to the event. The Dyno operator will be in the passenger seat with you to run the wireless control. The roll set will set up outside for better ventilation . Food will be provided during the day, we are just getting that hammered out.
We would like to have some pre-registration happen, so these guys can plan on the number of units coming in etc. Those who want to officially sign up with me, will get first dibs on the dyno. Stragglers, will be served last of course.
So in short, if you are planning to attend and get on the rolls, PM me and I will start a list. In your PM please put your Full Name and Phone # so I can have names instead of handles to set on the list.
Thanks guys and I will update with more information as it becomes available. I think this will be a good time with no pressure and some good turbo tuning knowledge available from the VEX group. Depending on how this event goes, we may look at having another GTG in the fall.

The time for the start of the event is one of the details that will be driven by the number of trucks I believe. I will get that hammered out here next week. I would assume a normal workday start, 8:00 maybe?
