Uh Oh!!!

Well here it goes, yesterday while i was driving to brooks i pulled out to pass this guy and BOOM! No boost, no whistle, and alot of noise coming from engine compartment.Pulled over to investigate, no turbo issue's, Tried to restart truck with no go. It sounded really rough like something grinding. My belt assembly wasn't turning on crank either. Could i have snapped or broke my cam shaft ??? Or maybe a pulley seize up, towed it to Dodge in brooks and it wont get looked at till tomorrow morning. Im very worried at this point, Iam 5 k under my 160k engine warrenty but we all know how dealers work with the mods and warrenty issue's. Any Idea's.

I blew a ecm fuse there as well. I just coasted to a stop a few feet from the petrocanada truck stop. Took me 2 hours to figure that it was a blown fuse

Did some research and a couple of other people had the same account as i did, and it turned out to be the Flex plate. That would explain the noise, starter spinning a broken plate. Hopefully that is all that is wrong. Talked to the dealership and they said it's not covered under engine warrenty . The truck still hasnt gone in yet but will be in today. Any idea's on a cost ????

Well it was indeed the flexplate, but it's gonna cost me $1200. Atleast i get it back tomorrow, if i can scrounge up some coin lol, and ofcoarse no warrenty.

Ouch, that is a lot of money. Is that just for a OEM flexplate at a dealership or was there other stuff? As you say, at lest you will be on your way.

Whew.. Really thats good news. But it always happens in a bad time where you could upgrade to a more advanced aftermarket plate for less.

You could get a flexplate from cummins for less than half the dealer cost probably, Mine was only $120 when i bought it.

Totally a bunch of crap, they even tried to sell me a aftermarket one for $880.00. PFFFT whatever. anyway i wish i wasnt in a rush to get it back then forsure i would have got a Aftermarket plate. oh well maybe next time lol. This has been a year i will forget thats forsure, hopefully next year is better. Atleast im working here and there to keep the man off my back side. I got them to keep the broken plate for me, it's going on my garage wall of shame lol. ill post some pics later.
