UFA oil

Does anyone know who produces ufa's oil for them, and where to find any info on it. Been looking on the ufa website, but nothing shows up. Just wondering if they have changed to the cj-4 rating yet.

The Polar Plus 0w40 I have is CI-4 rated, not CJ yet. Can't find who makes it, just UFA Co-op.

UFA oil is Esso oil produced under contract to UFA at Strathcona in Edmonton as is their fuel. Mohawk is also under a contract of Esso for their products. Cummins oil is Valvoline oil produced to their specs. UFA oil spec may not be updated as quickly due to farm engines not requiring ULSD right away. You will save money by buying UFA oil the same grade as ESSO. PK

I was also told by my local UFA person that thier brand of oil was also esso. She mumbled something about the star/stars on the bottom of the jug. Any re-labeled esso product has the star so she says..................

Thats what I was running. The UFA oil is 0w40 as well, and is about $6 cheaper, and you get an extra litre (UFA is 5 litre jugs, Rotella is 1 US Gallon).

I guess I pay for the label... I use Esso direct oil, my biz partner uses UFA in his Dmax.. He had 350,000 km on his Sundance turbo car using UFA oil, so it can't be all bad....LOL.. The stock is the same, the additives may be slightly different for UFA vs. the XD-3 line..

Whats a pail of UFA polar plus 0w40 worth? I've been running petrocanada 5W40 oil full synthic oil. The Petrocanada stuff is good stuff. I just coke up my turbo(s) easiler running the conventional 15W40 oil. The motor is fine with what ever oil you run. I have a habit of not letting my turbo cool down completely. I usually shut the truck off at 350-400 deg's on the pyro, most turbo shops like the egt's to be cooler than that. How fast does the polar oil get dirty?

At Petropass stations, you can get a pail of 5W40 oil for $115 to $120. I find that its puts a pretty slimmy coating on everything. The worst thing about the oil that its harder to keep the truck clean. Hopefully it sticks that good to all the pieces inside the engine. I was buying Penzo 15W40 from par for about $40 a pail. Its good oil but the turbo's seem to coke-up and didn't spin a freely after using it as the Petro oil does. It could be my mind too. If I didn't have such big sticks and expensive turbos, I would be running the cheaper oil.
