Truck value

My friend has this truck that was replaced with a 2003 CTD dually. Could any of you suggest what it would be worth? He's going to list it but doesn't know where to start.

It has 145,000km on it and it is in as good of shape, inside/outside and mechanically as it looks. Never modified, all stock, 5 speed manual. Sorry, forget the year but 96-98, I think?

Your thoughts are appreciated. It's located in the Calgary area.

It is definatley older than 96 to 98,, late 80's vintage I would hazard a guess. Is it a diesel? Any options? Be a nice little truck if it was a diesel, unfortunately probably not worth a lot in todays market place. Does he have any ideas what he is thinking for price?

Looks like an 89-93 first gen twelve valve. Definitely a clean looking truck.

It is in the 90's, maybe 93 but I'll check, and on the options. I expected most would catch the CTD emblem on the fender. I don't know the early models very well but the truck is in excellent condition. The owner has gone over every part of it and he's one of the best BYM's I ever met.

I think your price is on the mark.. only 145,000 km? I didn't buy my 97 with less than that! Wow.

Yup 92 or 93.. The club cab wasn't available until the 92 model year.

OK, checked and its a 92 loaded, all options, tranny has been pulled apart and the output shaft fixed with double clip rings, all new bearings and all the problems removed and fixed, new clutch. He had the same concerns. It wasn't broke, just preventive. Front end is good but not worked on other than a new steering box. All rust removed (cab corners) and replaced with new metal. Transfer case has been pulled apart and new bearings and seals. Agian, not broke, just preventative. Rear axle has new seals and clutches (3.54)

5th hitch installed with brakes, needs tires.

I would hope more than 6-8K?

That is a 18 year old truck. 6-8k is a TON to still get for it. I mean what did it even cost new? Low 20's? Pretty good! In reality they are getting pretty dang rare to be in good shape with super lower mileage, so you might find someone willing to pay maybe even 10k. The "economy" ain't going to affect trucks like this to much I don't think, people who want em got lots of money either way. I'm still finding the whole "slow economy" pretty histarical, not to get off topic or anything

This is exactly what I want, frick, why can't it be 2 years later?

Best truck Dodge ever made, all downhill after that.....

I beg to differ - very hard to beat a 96-98 p-pumped machine.

To be honest in todays market (and I am not saying that this is fair) but I think a person will be hard come by to even get 6 for it.. You can buy decent 3rd gens now for 11 to 13k.

Well, IMO any 12v is the best. Pretty much all the same, and all extremely well built engines. I just think the 1st gen's are a bit better because of the great body style.
