Nice machine.. those mini hoes do more then you expect just don't expect it to be fast.. Still faster then a shovel... I had the same unit in a JD flavor (2210) was a good machine.

I figure I have about 5-600 feet of trench to dig. It will be a perfect job for my 12 year old son. Practical video game controller experience! Just need a lime spreader for baseball lines and then he knows exactly where I want trenches. What could go wrong??????

You must remember yourself as a 12 yr old! Lol. Still remember dumping the clutch 100's of times on my dads old sears ride on lawn mower to do wheelies!

I was in a Home Depot the other day and their tool rental has the same model Kubota with hoe and bucket on a trailer for $202 for 4 hours, I thought that not bad if you needed a back hoe for a small job.

I did look but didn't take much notice, my thought would be to rent late in the day so you have it overnight, that was the Home Depot in Strathcona.

Went shopping at Kubota the other day. Was pretty sure I want something either in the L series or maybe the MX. Unfortunately after I got there I found out that Kubota no longer offers mid PTOs for belly mowers on anything larger than the B series.
So either I take a step down in tractor to the B series and run a belly mower with my self powered rear mower for a 10ft cut or I step upto a bigger tractor like the 50HP MX5100 and just run a 7ft rear 3pt mower. The price on the MX5100 was pretty good, $29K for base unit(no attachments), next size down was the L4600(45hp), smaller frame but only saved $1000($28k). Good finacne rates too, 0% for 60month on MX5100, 0% 48month on the L4600. Add on about $3500 to either for the loader.
Thinking I need to go to Agro and look at some green stuff. Ideally I'd like to find a 40HP tractor with a 7ft belly mower.
My dad has a JD 2305 with a 60" belly mower and I know thats too small for what I want to do.

Thats why I want the belly mower. I can get in the tight areas with it and then for the large open spaces I have a self powered tow behind mower that I offset to give a larger cut.
Anyone look at the New Holland Boomer series? Looking at the specs its a pretty good little tractor, the hydraulic flow rating is twice what JD and Kubota offer. Not sure why or what I'd use it for but its there... They also offer a 72" belly mower.
Anyone ever deal with Moody's in Airdrie? They are the local NH dealer. I've dealt with Agro for years for my JD mower(great parts people) and have been happy with them and the Kubota dealership salesman in Springbank impressed me as well. I'm as interested in the dealership and parts supply as I am the tractor itself. Even the best machine will break one day and if you cann't get a part when you need it......
Thats why I've stayed away from looking at Mahindras, Montanas, Kioti no local dealer. I'd consider a Bobcat but from what I've heard the Bobcat and Kioti are the same machine and apparently Bobcat doesn't support the tractor all that well.

Have a look at the TYM tractors from S Korea at Wheatbelt Industries at Balzac. My neighbor got one a couple of years ago and sold his Kubota. He told me all the things he liked better but I don't remember any other than he loves his TYM.

Go hang out at tractorbynet for a while. You can ask lots of questions or search there.
For hydraulics? I'd take higher flow if there was no other real differences. All the different add ons you can make for them... nice.

Doing my own research I found that Kubota does offer mid PTOs on the GRAND L series.
However after talking with the John Deere salesman I might be better off with a smaller tractor like the JD2000 series or Kubota's BX series.
Still reeling from the cost of adding a 72" belly mower, $3-$5K if the tractor has the mid PTO installed already. Depending on model.
JD Agro has 0% financing all of the time and the only extra fee is $50 to register the loan. So add tax and $50 onto the tractor price subtract downpayment and divide by 60 and thats your monthly payment.
Seriously thinking about a new JD2032R, it would be around $28K with the loader and mower. Apparently it uses the same loader as my dads old 2305 so I could save the cost of a loader and just borrow his when I need one.
