Shell V-power diesel fuel

Does anyone use the shell v-power diesel fuel?? What's so great about?

All I could think is they add more cetane....A fellow I know that complains about the price of diesel fuel,is always complaining about the expense of V-power fuel...But says thats the only thing that works good in his tandem truck..

I have been running it in the race truck. It definately made it more quiet.. I dont have any other hard data than that. My dodge was always fussy about what fuel it got though...

That is a good question...I'm going to see it I could find out...

Just curious if adding some additives to regular diesel would give the same properies as V-power at maybe a cheaper cost..

Yeah, I was wondering that too. The Shell by me just renovated and has two grades of diesel now, looks like about 6 cents difference in price between the two. I'll have to see if I can feel a difference between the two.

I tried it twice, when the new Shell opened up just across the tracks from me. First tank, I picked up about 2 mpg. Next tank, I was down about 2.5 mpg. So it was a wash. I just stick to regular diesel. If you collect Airmiles, the V-Power is good for that.

I told this fellow to try regular diesel to do a comparsion to see if the extra cost is worth it...He is to worried he will blow up his 96 Ford tandem..

Oh well...I gave my two cents...

Six cents a liter would sure add up in a year when your filling those huge tanks...

Myself....I will stick to my Husky diesel...

Yup regular diesel and my Lubecorp additive work just fine for me and for much less than 6cents/ltr.

The Cetane is suppose to be higher, I never noticed any significant change in mileage, power or cold starts running the V power diesel.

My brother works at the shell refinery I'll ask but I don't think there adding anything befor shipping out. Last time I popped in the control room he was blending a tank of **** diesel with good diesel to ship out.

Same with the nitrogen enriched gasoline they never changed there process just made a commercial haha
