IC Boots?
Do any of you Calgary area folks have a pair of boots for the intercooler that i could borrow for a day? I want to test the intercooler that was in my truck when i had the accident last year for leaks. It looks fine, with only a broken tab on the bottom and the right side tab broke off.Hopefully i can throw it back in.

A couple of pieces of old inner tube (one with the valve stem attached) and a couple of hose clamps will get it done.
Doesn't take much in the way of psi to show a leak. Jeff |
That's a good idea Thanks Homestead.

I have my old ones at home. But I am in Edmonton. If you still need them when I come back, I'll bring them along when we set your timing.

I have a set of stock CAC boots from an old engine you can use. no prob.

Thanks Luke and Tate i'll let you know i'm gonna try Homesteads idea first.

Just thought i'd let you know the inner tube idea worked perfectly, Jeff . I can throw my aftermarket intercooler back in , not one leak anywhere's.

Glad it helped.
I've used this trick on rads, intercoolers, a few times and had great success. As long as it a lower pressure, it will work fine. Jeff |
