First impressions with new truck

Well took the new truck to edmonton on friday (took a customer to a hockey game)

I left with 70kms on the clock, filled up to the brim Friday morning,, kept it at 120km all the way. Drove around in the city, to Mopac, to the hotel, to the mall, back to the hotel, to another hotel to pick up the customer, then to northlands, then to a bar, then to the hotel, and so on,,, you get the picture... filled up today, just before we left to go home,, hand calculated,, 16.1 MPG,,, I am not unhappy with that at all... truck just hit over 1000 km on the way home.. AND, you can believe this or not, and I invite you to come for a ride,, but this truck is a 1 ton, and rides as nice, if not actually nicer than the chevy....... just wish it wasnt so darn expensive

Congrats buddy, sounds like a nice ride. A spartan tune and dfp/egr delete would fix her up even more.

I think a nice Common rail swap would fix the DPF problem also!!

Wouldn't that just impress ford when you came in for the first oil change and there was 6.7/allison under the hood.

The Ford technicians would be happy that they wouldn't have to lift the cab to change the oil!!

Disclaimer!

Just kidding Kevin M. Please don't take us seriously, & I do wish you well with the new truck....

For a new Ford, thats probably one of the best mileage reports I have read. The 6.7 was the same with all the smog stuff.

Yeah I am pretty happy right now anyways... Joe, dont worry I dish it out as good as I can take it,, LOL.

Mike, to be honest I think that the 5r 110 is a better tranny than the allison. The allison will start crapping the bed at around 450ish hp, most of the guys are getting 600 + out of the 5r110.

Hope you like it better than the Chebby. Which was a very nice truck if you ask me.

I will be up there Tuesday - might take you up on the ride thing.
