So since Cummins doesn't sell short blocks I'm looking for rough idea on what it would cost to get my block reconditioned. Anyone have any ideas or had one done recently?

I would look for a shop that has a deck plate for the honing procress. Also another nice to do is get the mains aligned honed and the deck surface squared up.
Good luck finding a decent shop here in Calgary.

Good to know, thanks.
I pulled the head today and found a loose valve seat that was holding a valve open and kissed the piston in #5 cylinder. Pulled it piston and it showed some scuff marks. Cylinder wall had some light "streaks" on it but nothing I could feel and catch a nail on.
Also the turbo was shot. Can move the impeller in and out over a 1/4 inch. No side to side play though.....
Thinking about giving it a light hone with a new piston and rings. Any thoughts?
One thing that bothers me is where was all the blowby coming from? No broken rings....

Well that doesn't sound too bad all things considered...
Did you get a chance to run a compression test before pulling it apart?
No broken rings found in #5?
I guess all the other valves & cylinders look fine??

Fun project Clay. I like engine building. How does the crank and rods look? At least a re-ring. Hopefully the head is still good. Get the head magnafluxed, to look for cracks. Could be a source of the blow-by.
Keep us in the loop if you find a decent machine shop. I have two engines to rebuild on the go, this week. Might have three next week.
I still have your old block/rods/pistons, if you want to swap back, for any reason.
