A low mileage 24 valve outfitted with a P7100 pump?? Engine is from a wrecked truck that was totalled from the cab, back. It has already been outfitted with the P7100 and the gent says they've been running it without issue.

I just want to here some more opinions on the reliability of that particular set-up.[coffee]

How much do they want for it? Be a nice project engine, something that would be a good transplant engine

$4500.........I have some feelers out for a cheap Excursion from somewhere say New Mexico or Arizona where rust in the undercarriage wouldn't be an issue. A high mileage V-10, 2003, leather, with the 5-speed torqueshift would be the ticket. I'm waiting on a call back on one in Scottsdale Arizona with a V-10.

My passport renewal application is complete. I just have to get it into Canada Place next Friday. If the price is right, I'm prepared to fly down with a certified check in US funds and drive it back. I already spoke to my cousin about the swap in his shop - he quoted me roughly $3000 for the labour depending on the amount of messing around of course - I have a line on all adapter plates, motor mounts, and wiring harnesses - just need an intercooler.

Let's just say with what is coming down the pipe in a few months, I'd rather have another vehicle to take the winter rock chips than my truck. A lot of consideration has gone into this already. Don't get me wrong, I'd still drive my truck, but reserve it for the heavy pulling and keep it away from the city for the daily driving thing.

I'd like to get my hands on one up here.......with a blown engine. However, even those that are running have been beat to crap and they still want too much for them.

Other than a couple oil leaks that were my fault, my truck has been trouble free. I have a stumble/white smoke issue on a cold start, but I'm not convinced thats a pump issue, since it goes away when I use my espar.

I can't really see anything that would make that more troublesome than a 12v, as its for the most part a bolt in affair. Check the oil feed lines to the p-pump and vac. pump, and if they notched the head to bolt the pump in.

I've gotten an extensive explanation on how they did it, and they have as you mentioned Tate. This is the third of three they've done and released. They go through everything and rebuild anything that requires it - low mileage engines usually get pulled apart regardless.

I've found a very good deal on a loaded 2003 Excursion Eddie Bauer with a V-10 near Cleveland 48K miles. They've sent me well over 50 pics. It appears a soccer Mom had to have had it and garaged all the time - the undercarriage of new vehicles sitting on dealer lots up here are rarely in that good of shape.

However, time waiting for me to receive my renewed passport in the mail has allowed me time to think that so much blood has been lost from my fingers building my '07, that I should just enjoy driving it instead of starting a new project.

The problem is that these little projects and tinkering keep me sane.:o

What would I do with the little bit of extra cash, time, and no stitches in my fingers? People that know me will think I've lost it.[whistle]

I guess it'll all depend upon how close those guys in the US get down to my offer. They're supposed to get back to me on Monday.
