Where's my truck - VIN Search?

I could have sowrn that I saw someplace to search for my truck or get a update by the VIN. Of course, now that I want to find it, I can't. Anybody have an idea?

Sounds like Stargeezer is looking for the same thing I am, a means of tracking the progress of the shipped truck on it's train car. My understanding is this information used to be openly available online prior to 9/11. Now you need a login for the rail carrier's site and seems they only provide those to the consignee of the shipment, i.e. the dealer.

My truck left the plant in Mexico on Wednesday and was on a train in Piedra Negras, CU last my salesman tracked it. I asked him for a way to track it on my own and have not received a response. If I get one I will share.

Thanks Greg! Thats what I'm looking for. I know I've seen it, but it's just gone now that I'm looking for it. I know we'll get our trucks sooner or latter, I'd just like to be able to peek.

One of the best things UPS ever come up with was the ability for a common person to track their package.

Be Well All,
Larry

I've been looking for a web site to look things up on, as far as I've been able to find, there is not one for us buyers.

I did find this data and a phone number last night. Thanks to all who are posting - and waiting, coffee is brewing......

Just received a text message from my salesman that my truck is in Poplar Bluff, MO and is due into my dealership Monday. It's almost here.

Taks a few minutes to get through the "voice mailbox" choices, but I discovered if you just wait through all the choices you will get to a person faster.

Mine still is listed ready to be built but with a ship date of 2/6.... We'll see.

Good luck everybody.

Red face

Hmmm well I just got off the phone with Chrysler and the nice girl said it was released by plant so that means it is in " KZ " status and could take up to 30 days for my dealer to receive it , could not tell me more but did suggest calling my dealer they would be able to narrow it down a bit better..... Off I go to call them ...

I just called the Dodge info center and found that my truck shipped on the 3rd. Hurray for dodge.

Now it's up to the train.

We are heading to florida this weekend, I hope we all get there at about the same time.

Well, I was supposed to pickup my truck tonight but received a text message from my salesman this afternoon saying the truck is still sitting 20 miles away. Apparently it take 9 days to get the truck from Mexico to 20 miles from the dealership and then 4-5 days to handle that last 20 miles, at least in my case.

Now I'm supposed to get it on Wednesday.

If they would put more than 5 gallons of diesel in the truck, they would'nt have to PUSH it the last 20 miles.

That line saying "5 gallons of diesel fuel" on my order was the strangest thing on it.

The dealer has filled every truck I have ever bought. This one will have the onboard 34 gallons and the 50 gallon TransferFlow tank. Do you think I can wangle a 84 gallon first fill out of this one? I'm NOT holding my breath. LOL
