2016 3500 wheels breaking
2016 3500 Dually 355,000 miles
Have just had the third stock rim begin leaking air at the seam weld between the rim and mounting center. All 3 rims are leaking in the same basic location and the first rim went bad at 258,000 then next at 310,00 and now another at 351,000.
Rims do not separate, but only develop a slow leak and was detected while driving via the TPS display.
One right front, One left front, and one outside right dual.
front I run 75 psi rear 65 psi.
Always towing since truck was new.
Question:
Any body else have the same issue?
Recommendations for aftermarket Rims (always towing heavy)
Would like aluminum if heavy duty rated?
Thanks in Advance

What color are the steel wheels?
Should be black.
there where some Chinese knock offs in grey out there.
low rating junk.
have a bit less miles on my 16 dually and no issues. Black wheels.

Not to detract from this thread, but OMG! 350,000 miles on a 2 year old truck!!
Kudos to you, my friend. That's a whole lot of seat time....
Just..... Wow!!

Never figured out the problem but had a 4th wheel rim do the same thing. Not worried any more at the moment. truck retired 391,087 miles and done. totaled out in Nashville. Truck tire and rim taken dead center of the front bumper and into the grille.
truck North bound me South bound tire and rim jumped center median.
Replaced with 2016 Ram 3500 only 80,000 miles, Anisin, 3.73 dually, crew cab.

I watched a pair of wheels fly off a semi trailer this past trip.
Sounds like you made it out safe and no injuries?
Wow can those wheels bounce and fly!
230K miles on my 16.
