Good luck! There is no comparing the old with the new.

hope it works out for you! Even going from an '07 5.9 to an '11 was a huge upgrade (except for the fuel mileage)

The cab is nicer than the 2nd gen truck, but the 6.7L engine isn't as good/reliable as the good old VP 24 valver (CR stuff is junk in IMO, if you plan to drive the truck). My older truck starts better in the cold than the new truck and has a lot more power (fun factor). Fuel mileage for both my trucks are about the same. The older truck is way cheaper to operate than the new truck.

well mike i do understand what you are saying about the old trucks, i have alot of respect for them. I have got alot of good use out of mine. but the way i see it is, if i go buy a 14 or 15K dollar truck with 140 or 150K miles on it like i have done in the past. Next year this time i will be in the same boat, needing a new one because i do use my trucks, and the repair bills start rolling in, not so much anymore now that im selling cars now but i do haul cattle and hay on the side. and a truck thats older with that mileage on it doesnt have much life left when your hooked up every day. or i could get into an 07 or 08 with 80K or so on it for mid to high twentys. well i just dont want to pay 28,000 for a truck with 80K on it. But with me selling cars im going to get EP and make out better with a brand new one with warranty IMO

I'll take the CR over the 24v anytime. My '07 has had 1/10 the issues my '98.5 had. I do miss the seats on my old truck though.
