Transfer Flow bad pump?
I have a 40 gallon Transfer Flow ToolBox Combo Tank that I moved from my 2004.5 to my 2014 Dually Ram. I bought the tank brand new. Probably about 5-6 years ago the pump went bad and had to be replaced. Now I notice that I can only pump about 25 gallons of the 40 out. About 3" is left on the bottom of the tank. I called Transfer Flow and they say that's what happens when the pump gets weak. It cant suck it up the tube from the bottom. New pump is about $100.00 from Transfer Flow. Seems that the pumps shouldn't be going out every 5 years! Pretty disappointed in the quality of the pump. Does anyone know of a replacement diesel pump that I can replace for the expensive Transfer Flow one that would be an easy retrofit? Would also be nice if the volume was a little faster as this one takes about 45 minutes to fill the tank when new!!!
Thanks in advance for any advice! Brian |
I had the system in my 06. I thought the pump was bad as well. Ordered the new pump from transfer flow, installed it and it did not work🤬 found a bad ground on the wiring. Put the new back in the box. Put it the same system in the 16 Dodge. Tank must have dirty as I’ve changed the filter 3 times since July of 16. Have not put the big Racor in the system yet like I had in the 06. Can see that in the pic gallery. I would think any 12 volt pump that fits the space like the TFF pump would work. Dave |
