Tradesman Seat swap. Air bag resistance?
I've got a set of 2016 Laramie seats that I'm installing into My 2017 tradesmen. the only hiccup Ive run into is that the tradesman has in seat airbags. And the 2016 didn't. I have two choices I can take the airbags out of the tradesmen seats and shove them up inside the back of the Laramie seats. Or I can replace with an inline resistor. Curious if anyone knew off hand what resistance the system is looking for

Most air bags seem to run 2-3 ohms resistance. Before making a permanent connection you could try sticking the resistor leads into the seat plug and turn the key on. If the resistance is right the light will be gone. Note that both seats will need to have resistors before you run the test.
I wouldn't shove the airbags inside the new seats - the covers have a special seam to release the pressure. Otherwise you'll get an unexpected surprise if you ever do get in an accident. |

I can see some possible serious injury to a driver and/or a back seat passenger if it were to fire off. Unfortunately, they just don't make them like they used to. probably why some guys like to stick with the old 12 valves. Simple and easy. |
