I have heard a rumor it was never made because of the weight. but a CTD has enough power to pull itself out.. and if not thats what the winch is for

Local dealer has a leftover 09 Power Wagon with an MSRP of $47K on sale for $35K. Tempting, but I don't think I'll be happy with less than 2/3 the torque of my Cummins. it sure is nice to pull into the passing lane and scoot by slower moving traffic without the truck dropping out of O/D, even when pulling a trailer. Problem is the diesel, with it's extra weight and crappy limited slip is a pig in deep sand without airing way down, and even then axle hop can be problem. that's where the Power wagon would shine, with it's lower weight, real lockers, and slighly softer suspension. I just can't give up the diesel torque though, and after years of waiting for Dodge to do it, I'm gonna make my own version of a Diesel Power Wagon. I'll start with a Kore HP series lift (+3 in front, +1 in back) and an ARB air locker for the rear. I suspect that the combination of a slightly softer suspension and the air locker will give me all the traction I need in the sand,if not, then I'll get ther front locker too. no need for the PW's 4:56 gears with all thst diesel torque, and a winch doesn't do you a lot of good at the Dunes, you rarely have anything to winch to there anyway.

Can't you put the power wagon locker into our trucks? Same axle.

Don't they also have disconnecting sway bars too?

And yeah I agree with the above, make your own power wagon... I'm on a sprung 2 inch lift running 35's with 1 inch spring lift in the rear. I don't need a locker or winch just need to put it in 4x4 when the ground gets a little slick.

I was told by my local dealer that there will be no 2010 power wagon diesel 6.7L. I also want a sport model, thats a no for 2010 and no I couldn't special order anything odd.

PW axles are not the same as 2500 Diesel axle, the lockers won't work. But even if they did, I wouldn't want 4:56 gearing with a diesel, too many revs going down the highway.

PW has the AAM 10.5 in the back, Diesel has the AAM 11.5.

You could get most of what a PW offers with aftermarket add-ons. The special wheels would be tricky (PW wheels are different to better hold the bead when aired down). Also the frame sliders.

Still, the diffs can be upgraded, a winch can easily be added, and I bet the remote sway bar disconnect could be adapted from a real PW.

I think it's the coolest thing ever that Dodge even builds one of these things.
