Something didn't feel right

Yesterday I pulled a 'light' load. I had to move a few head of cattle last night i hooked up to my stock trailer (~2500lbs.) and loaded two cows (~700lbs each). Figured load weighed about 4000... pulled up to a stop light that was on a slight hill.

When the light turned green, it seemed like i really had to get my foot in it to move.

Maybe its just me....

Also, when i would rev my 07 5.9L, i could feel the torque rock the truck. and this one...no rocking....

Could this be a sign of low boost? any other ideas, or am i manufacturing ideas that could be wrong.

Thanks in advance.

I noticed this on my new truck as well. I really have to it throttle if I want it to move, even empty. My old truck(1 yr old 11400 miles) would run circles around this new truck. I got both new, so they started out with the same miles, just a few that people test drove them. The 09 had 3.73's and the 10 has 4.10's which I thought would get it up and moving quicker. I realize it has to get broke in for power and mileage, but when i was hooked up to our camp trailer 6000 lbs or so loaded, I did'nt have alot of excess power on tap. I stepped down on it to accelerate and there was no more there.

once i get it rolling, it seems to do fine....its just getting it rolling that i seemed to cause the issue. I'm going to load it down again this weekend, so we will see what happens then.

Comparing the old and the new, it could be the difference in the two transmissions. Perhaps the RPM's need to be higher to get the converter grabbing.

It does sound like something is wrong. My truck is great off of the line with 373 gears towing a 11K 5th wheel. Much better than my slightly modded 2004.5 ram (same gearing). This truck is a better all around truck. So it would seem that something is not right with yours.

I'm not getting in CEL or other messages. Could the Dealership really do anything without somekind of telltale?

My 2010 seems like it has A LOT more lag than any of the other 4 that I've owned. The other 6.7l I had was an '07 with an auto tranny and this one has a manual, but it shouldn't feel so much different IMO.

EDIT - BTW...stidwell adds a point I forgot, both 6.7's were/are 3.73 gears.

I'm going from just the opposite....I had an 07 5.9 with a manual and 3.73s into a 6.7 auto with 4.10s

Mine with 3.42's feels fine...I mean as fine as it can feel coming from a 98 12v with a DTT tranny and 600hp...takes a little pedal to go, but not too bad. It's better than a stock 47/48RE converter

Coming from a manual and going to an auto can also make a difference. With the manual, you have full power into the trans as soon as the clutch is released. With the auto, you have to get the torque converter to grab which requires some additional RPM.

I notice the same thing (probably just a little worse) when I pull with my truck (6-sp manual) and my brother-in-law's truck (48RE auto). You have to give it some pedal to get it rolling, then it's fine.

I read on another forum that these trucks are programmed from the factory for soot control. By doing this, it makes them feel sluggish until they get over a certain rpm. Any body else here of this?. I am getting tired of driving it like it is. My 09 had alot more power, alot less lag and seem to get the power to the ground better. This is what I liked about the 68rfe in my 09. When hooked to my camp trailer I could hit the throttle and take off. With the 2010 with 68rfe I throttle it and it feels like the old 47/48 in the older model trucks. It would take alot of throttle, flash up then take off.

Has your emergency brakes been pushed on? You should have no issues hauling that small of load. I pulled my RV one day with the emerg brake fully engaged by accident, after popping the emerg brake back to off position, the truck felt normal There is only a quiet beep, every once and awhile, maybe every 5 minutes. With the stereo turned up abit, its hard to heard and figure out when your driving.

My H&S blackmaxx, covers the left side of the dash, so I can't couldn't see the emerg brakelight lite up.
