Picking up my New 3500 Dually Long Bed

3 Attachment(s)
Probably Tuesday, 1-19-10.
Finally stepping up to the plate, the 2500 simply wasn't enough truck.
Attachment 70391

Attachment 70392

I've been over 24,000 with this setup. Over 8000 lbs on the drive tires.

Attachment 70393

Just had to pull the trigger on the 2010. Pulled my extra equipment off the MC today...Aux fuel tank, Firestone air bags, and SuperGlide sliding 5th wheel.
Will likely be selling the air bags and the SuperGlide. Going to a B&W turnover ball GN.

Where's the best place to buy a B&W GN?

Nice new rig... I am liking that two tone brown. Can't believe I just said that never even looked at brown trucks before but it looks real nice.

Jaxom 01-16-2010 09:46 PM

It took me by surprise as well!!!
No Flame Red in the HD and don't care for the Inferno Red. I was thinking that I'd like the Rugged Brown, but then I saw the Austin Tan and WOW!!!

DirtEater 01-18-2010 08:33 AM

Very nice Jaxom. So your rig is Austin Tan Pearl? The first pic I was thinging the Mineral Gray. I'm kinda diggin the Light Graystone on the 2010's.

Jaxom 01-18-2010 11:27 AM

Yep, Austin Tan.

Check ebay for the B&W hitch. Thats where I got mine, and it was way cheaper than anything I could find local.

Thanks. $399 is the best I've found so far.

Nice looking rig. So now that the fenders are molded into the truck bed are they metal or still fiberglass? I know if one of mine get munched it's a grand to replace one. But with the new style it looks like a total bed replacement.

Chrysler states that it is cheaper to replace the bed when compared to replacing the fender by its-self.....

I'd have to throw the bs flag if they're saying that. With paint and all, I can't see how that's possible.

Nice!!

With the metal fenders you can repair them easier.... That's what I read.

Jaxom 01-19-2010 05:46 AM

Fender repair??? I hope I never find out!!!
I am concerned...aware...SCARED!!! I've never had a dually before.
The extra wide hips might be an issue, but I have a little PT Cruiser to buzz around town in. That will be the daily driver.

I can't sleep. I'm picking it up in a couple of hours...is it Christmas yet???

Palmetto_kid 01-19-2010 11:15 AM

The only prob. I have ever had with my dually was with a 10' long lowboy. I backed up forgetting it was back there, and jack-knifed it into my passenger side dually fender. Couldnt see it out of my mirrors......

That is why you should always walk around your vehicle before backing up. You just never know.

BTW............I love the truck....I so want on.e

I saw a second gen dually stuck in a bank drive-thru once. Wedged between the drive-thru teller machine and an ATM.

It was a landscape crew driving it. Wished I would've had my camera.

Edit: Congrats on the purchase!
