Traded my 2014 4x4 for a 2018 4X4. Black Pearl something SLT. Has towing pkg Maroon and tan interior and other extras. Nice truck other than the Firestone Tires. Hope these get better mileage than the 2014 did, had to change at 27K. Only 400 miles on it today so need to drive it a little to get beginings of break in for it. Rides well and looks like maybe the EGR servicce in not mandatory, at least in the manual.

Congrats on the new truck! Yeah, those factory tires are provided by the lowest bidder. I think Ram assumes you're going to replace them with a sweet aftermarket tire+wheel package.

Truck sounds nice!

Yea, them Tires don’t get it, that’s for sure. My right front came apart on the inside at 27,400. Replaced it with what came on it thinking the left was ok for awhile and 3,000 miles later the left front came apart just like the right one.
It was so bad the steering wheel would rock left to right at 25 to 45 mph. Like
the death wouble.

Strange how tires work out for us.
my truck came with Nexens and they were worn out at 30k
I have been putting Firestone Transforce HT’s on my trucks for the past several years netting 85-100K miles per set.
I used to put Michelin LTX on but then last two times I did do that, I was only getting 40K miles and others said the same thing.
And now the second set of Firestones have done the same thing which is is giving me a thump thump thump at highway speeds. Went thru all of the suspension and u joints and then rotated again. The sound was gone for a short period and then it returned. Everything checks out so rebalanced them, sound gone but noticeably more wheel weights. Didn’t last long, thump thump thump. I’m at 80K miles and rears are at 4/32, fronts are 7/32. Will put a set of Kuhmo Crugans (sp?) on this week.
2016 3500 dually, 220,000 miles so far 🙀

I also had Nexens. Rears should be ok. Was running 55 psi in rears. Put the depth gauge on them and had 5/32 wear just off center to the outside and 7/32 in the center at 25,000. Still to much air. Dropped them to 50 psi. Hope they stay together.

I ran LTX’s on all my other duallys and 85 to 90k with rotation was seen.

My Son is trying Nitto on his Suburban. Lot cheaper that Michelin and they seem
to be doing good. Truck rides great with no tire noise for the tread type. He put them on my old 96 as well.

I’probably start a tread on Tires as I’ve have some thoughts on tire wear with the 4th gen 3500 Trucks.

Still like the Centramatics that I put on all 4 wheels. I do an initial balance with new tires, but never again. Maybe do not even need that initial balance. My truck rides very smoothly.

Also still always go for the Yokohama tires. Have used them on many different types of vehicles with zero problems. Have just persuaded a friend with a Ford truck to switch to them and he has reported an immediate and noticeable improvement in ride comfort and noise levels.

OK, had some heart work done so truck sat for a month or so at less than 1000 miles. Finally took a road trip last week. Little over 2000 more miles all highway no trailer averages 20 1/2 MPG. Not bad for not being broken is yet. The end of this month will be going to Mi from Fl for a wedding and will see if we maintain that 20-22 mpg figure. Hopefully so. The 2014 got 24 for one summer but settled in at 18-19 average. Hoping the 18 gets a little better mileage. Oh, the 14 had Firestone Transforce and barely got 27k and they were at 2 to 3/32 remaining (that was with 5k rotations). I don;'t drive hard, the tiresd just didn't wear very well. The Wilderness on my 07 still had 3-4/32 at 75K when I traded it in. They were worn out but millage was very good. If I got 60k on the Firestones I'd be happy.
