Life of stock brake pads
Hi,
I have a 08, 6.7L, Auto, 4X4 that I pull a 5er with. I now have 52,000 miles on the stock pads and I believe I can go another 20K on them. I used the exhaust brake constantly, so this will help the stock pad life also.
I believe that some older third gen trucks have changed them around 75K or later. This all depends if you do alot of city driving or highway driving for brake pad life. My drive is 60/40, city/highway.

Thanks, that has been my experience with the 03 and 06 I had. I have a squeal in the front but only have 24k on the truck. Probably just a metallic piece on the pad is my guess, but it sure sounds like the wear indicator.
It's my understanding these trucks don't have wear indicators. My 2003's brakes lasted 100k as well. Hope these do too. Goodness- those guys with bolt-action trannys ought to get 150k out of 'em.

Traded my 08 with a tad over 70k on it and still had plenty of pad left.
20k on the '11, they squeak at times but no sign of wear yet.
