Key Fob has left the vehicle - NOT

Anyone else experience this and did you figure out how to fix it or take it to the dealer?

Driving normally with key fob laying in center console. It is the only key fob in the truck with us - we confirmed ahead of time the second fob was not with the passenger. Stop the truck - engine still running, the front passenger gets out... when the door closes the EVIC tells me the key fob has left the vehicle (but it hasn't) and the chime alarm goes off - and will not stop. The only solution I've found is to shut the truck off and restart it.

Not the end of the world, but curious and very annoying... if I could simply shut off the chime that would be a good start.

Any ideas?
