2010, 2500, 4WD, 7700 miles

Hissing noise under the dash, drivers side. Sounded like a vacuum line that got loose. Took it to the dealer, they said that at the factory, they put a plastic liner in the hydroboost hose from the power steering pump, and that particles come loose from it, causing a blockage in the hydroboost hose. They took off the line, cleaned it out, reinstalled it, and the noise went away. About an hour of time at the dealer.

I did notice some difference in braking when the hissing sound was present.

Just FYI, because they said they had other trucks come in with the same symptom.

I hope they replaced the hose assembly and not just removed the Teflon Liner in the hose. The inner liner is required to prevent the fluid from being pass through the cover under pressure. This is an integral part of the hose and is required to prevent a hose failure. Please contact the dealer and have them replace this hose assembly if they just removed the liner. A failure to the hose assembly is just waiting to happen.

This is a common problem with other Dodge 3rd gen trucks and has been noted by other members on this site and other sites. I am surprise that Dodge has not resolve this manufacturing problem with their supplier of these hoses assemblies by now.
