Fuel Mileage vs Performance
I have a 2011 3500 with 3:73 gears. I run a steel erection business and have had Ford's. I can honestly say my powerstroke would leave this cummins in the dirt but my cummins will pull the gates of hell down. I love the torque and the exhaust brake. the fuel mileage is not the best about 14.5 to 16. I notice sometimes if it is warmer outside that it can affect the mileage. I pull a gooseneck trailer with gang boxes and diesel welders, I can't even tell its back there. This is my first Dodge, I hope it does good because this is how i make my money. I don't have time to work on trucks when I should be hanging steel.

Here a pic of my evic, I have around 100 miles on the rest. I couldn't beleive it either, so I took a picture. Originally I was getting 12-14mpg and around 9 towing. I average between 600-650miles per tank of fuel.

LOL,,, that's funny. Yes, the cummins has monster torque. The speed thing can be fixed with a little upgrading. I would leave it stock though since it is a true work truck. The only thing I would consider is someday waving good-bye to all the EPA stuff....

I bought the 3500 4x4 Auto 373 with 35 inch dia tires. So far avg corrected 14-15.5 mpg at 65 mph carring 500 lbs in the box, no mods and 3200 miles almost all freeway miles. My 2005 3500 Manual got 21-25 mpg.

I'm confused - the truck is noting Kilometers for traveled mileage, yet you're quoting miles for fuel mileage. Wouldn't the EVIC Average fuel mileage number when you're in metric be metric (kilometers per gallon)? Just curious - I've never switched mine to see what all switches with it, but it would seem to me it would be all indications, versus just some.

Just went to Florida and back to Texas. Used cruise at 75 for 75% of the trip and 80 for the rest. My overall MPG average was 17.1 hand calculated. Not bad IMO for only 7k miles.
