Free USB input behind dash - RES/U-connect trucks

Hadn't seen a thread on here yet, but in case you're wanting to add a USB to your truck you do NOT need the cable if you already have the RES radio and Uconnect. If you have an SLT/Laramie or any of the nicer models that actually has a glove box you probably already have the outlet in the upper glove box. IF you don't and you have an ST like me, its behind the upper storage bin. Pop off the upper storage bin (7mm screw) after dropping the lower glove box. On the left on top of the blower box you'll see one little plug for a glove box light and then just behind that the USB plug. There isn't enough slack to pull it forward any more than a few inches.
Ill post more pictures later but I plan on just getting a longer USB cable and either pop it in the glove box OR use a USB/cig lighter adapter I have from a GM and toss it in one of the cig lighters on the dash I never use. Thumb drive works great!

Yep, just hit the aux button and it will find the usb if you have something plugged into it.

That's a great find. My truck has the USB in the glove box already but a few friends and family will be happy to have that pointed out. Thanks for the tip.
