Fooling the Navigation System

Let me start with " I KNOW DODGE HAS MADE IT THIS WAY FOR A REASON" but has anyone out there come up with a way to fool the nav system so you can input things when moving ie. addresses and such. So that it is not disabled when in motion.

Now that's a good idea. Been wondering same thing. Its one those dumb safe driving idea that suppose to work, but in real life really causes more driving issues. I just pick an address after three/four pages, then go another three/four pages, pick an adress, surf another three/pages and give up.[duhhh]

Ordered mine today from the ebay store. They are cheaper than from Cosatal for the same product. Also ordering on e for a buddies GM it is cheaper as well. Can hardly wait till it gets here.

So the MYGIG LOCKPICK arrived and installing it was a really easy, its just plug n play. It all works exactly as described, video and nav input while in motion. It works great.

I love these safety features. My rental vehicle this week has a GPS unit from Hertz. If you're moving and try to enter information, it throws up a warning that the driver shouldn't enter any data. But you should press the 'Enter' key to continue entering data if you're the passenger.

I guess this covers the legal needs... :D

So you removed the radio yourself? Was this easy? Did you get the MYGIG LOCKPICK V.3?

Has anyone installed one of these on a 2011 with the Garmin based GPS? Was wondering if it's the same one for 2010's and 2011's since they are different GPS'?

I called the company above and they said it would work on the 2011 w/ NAV radios as long as it was a RHB or RER radio. I have the nav radio and the RER is on the lower right hand corner of the radio.

If you do a search on Ebay for a "MYGIG LOCKPICK" there is a ebay store that has the Costal Electronic unit for less. He offers the same warranty and is cheaper that is where I got mine from.

I did the install myself and it was easy. Here is a link that explains removing the console around the radio and it explains things quite well even though it is for a differnt product. http://www.pro-fit-intl.com/Adobe/DG-92-08-G3-p9.pdf

If you have the center storage compartment you need to remove that console first. First remove the chrome bezel from around the deep storage compartment. Simply slide a trim removal tool or small flat screwdriver under it and slowly twist. it is held in place with I think 8 sliding tabs (real easy to remove).
Next remove the rubber tray in the front and you will see two philips head screws remove those and then you can lift the silver console out. The deep storage compartment stays in.
After the radio is out (remove the four screws) you simple unplug a radio harness, plug in the Lockpick harness and then plug radio harness into the Lockpick and thats all.

Just talk to your Nav and input the address. It is much easier then pushing buttons on the screen anyway.
