DEF gauge

I recently sold my '05 2500 and bought a '17 Ram 2500 Laramie. So I'm new to the whole DEF thing. When I bought the truck the dealer filled the DEF tank for me and I've put about 1000 miles on the truck. Today I returned from a 500 mile trip and my DEF gauge is still reading 100%. Is this normal? It seems like it should have used some by now. The more research I do the more convinced I am that getting rid of the EGR and DPF are the way to go.

The def tanks are not linear in gauge usage. IIRC if you look on the net you can ind a video of of someone who pulled one out and checked the linearity of the gauge. In fact just looked it up and is below.
it will answer your concern

Thanks, great video and answers my questions. I should see a change on the gauge in another 1000 miles or so.
