DEF gage

Just bought new 2015 3500 4x4 SRW (pics will be coming). Coming up on 1000 miles and DEF gage still says 100% from when I brought it home with 35 miles on it. Seems a little odd. Got jug of DEF and it took 1 to 1.5 gallons. Seems the gage should have been down to 3/4. Normal? Or does it need to go to service dept?

I have drove over 600 miles this last weekend and my guage stays at 100% it usually takes thousands of miles before you get under a half tank, I usually go down to little under half tank then top off with a 2.5 gallon jug.

Because DEF freezes they couldn't use a standard float style gauge, so it has some type of beam style (like laser beam, lol). It has been reported that the gauge reads full till 1/2 tank and then starts to move, but as stated 1/2 tank can be 1000's of miles. I wouldn't be worried, it's seems quite normal for it to sit on full a long time.

My 15 2500 DEF gauge did not move for well over 1k miles. When I hooked up my trailer and drove it 75mph on the turnpike it moved then... Have about 2500 miles on the truck now and the DEF gauge shows half full now.
