Dash Switches

Has anyone added additional switches into the switch panel on the dash. I asked at the dealer and they said they do not have switches available yet.

Any suggestions ? I was hoping to add additional switches into the dash switch panel for a nice clean look.

So what does that mean if you have a switch go bad - they can't replace it? I hope what they meant was they don't have them as accessories, but could actually get them if one failed. And so if that was the case, could you use one that had a picture of something like the heated steering wheel or seats, on it?

Spoke to parts manager this afternoon. He said that replacement switch blocks are available but they come in pre-installed blocks of switches so I have to pick which switches I want i.e. I could order a block of switches with switches for heated seats installed in the block and then just use the heated seat switch for whatever aftermarket item I install that i want to connect to the switch.

I am going to wait and see if anyone has any other ideas here and am doing some research from upfitters. I would have thought that extra switches would have been available for upfitters, oh well I will research and wait for the time being. Truck not due in for another 4 weeks.

Additional info needed

In addition to the switches, I could use help in figuring out the best place to pick up 12V power for added toys (e.g. an air compressor and solenoid for my soon to be installed horns). There are extra fuses and ciricuits for accessories/options that I don't have (like sunroof, rear wipers, etc.). I can find the fuses but knowing where and how to get to the wires or circuits hooked to the fuses has eluded me so far. I could always go directly to the battery and put my own fuse in but I thought it would be best to utilize some of the 12V distribution that is already in the truck. I'm not trying to steal this thread but think it is closely related to having additional switches available. Ed

Ed, it's all good, ya not stealing a thread, I agree switches, available power all related. I'd like to know that also because once i settle on switches I'll need power also.

Happy Saturday !

I added 3 auxiliary switches to mine but not on the face of the switch panel. I found a small panel on the drivers side of the center console, removed that panel, drilled 3 spaced holes in it, added toggle switches to the panel, aquired power from the cig lighter. Panel clipped back in and is easily accessible, Leg doesnt hit switches. Im using the switches to power light loads (GPS, Radar Detector, Backup camera add on), so the power supply was adequate.

I have found that Dodge does offer a bank of switches that fits directly into the dash, however I'm having difficulty finding the exact part number. The switch does appear in a photo on the Dodge upfitter pages.

I've connected with a very helpful dealer, he has ordered a switch bank, which is what we think I need/want. I am going away for a week, but it should be here when I return and I'll let you know if it is what we need. If it is I'll be able to give you a part number.

Won't work for me, but Thanks for the picture. I've got the Laramie, that has my seat and steering wheel switches.

Thanks for the link and sorry for the highjack but all I get is the first page and nothing else. Is there a complete copy for the 2010 model?
