Auxiliary tank that plumbed out the top?

I bought a auxiliary tank the other day and it has two 1/4 or 5/16 hose barbs in the top and nothing in the bottom. The guy said plum it into the vent on top of the tank. Will this work? I don't want to put a pump on it I just want gravity to do the work. Do I need to put a bung in the bottom side corner and go into the neck like the rest? HELP!!!

If you want to gravity fill the main you need a bung in the bottom.

Suction for an electric pump and a vent.
